【摘要】Ding Zhi-min, Rhymes in the Gathas in Quotation of Respectable Buddhist Masters（《古尊宿语录》 ） Abstract： Through an exhaustive study of rhymes in the Gathas in Quotation of Respectable Buddhist Masters（ 《古尊宿语录》） ）, it is found that there exist 18 rhyming patterns. But there are a few cases in which the same rhyme is employed in two patterns. This paper, based on the achievements in the research into the rhymes in Song dynasty and modern dialects as well as a critical examination of the places where the Buddhist masters were born and went, attempts to make clear the nature of the overlap of rhymes in different patterns.
